Whether you want to increase your physical abilities, obtain total control of your mind and body, self-defense (armed and unarmed), or simply learn something new, pencak silat has can accommodate your interest. Pencak silat is a physical activity, therefore we will maximize your physical and mental abilities. Our adult programs include:

  • Pencak silat training
  • Tenaga dalam (inner power): Geared towards the inner power and spiritual aspects of pencak silat
  • 10 weeks women's self-defense

The adult pencak silat curriculum are divided into two groups. Below is a general outline of what will be covered in the curriculum.

Jawara (Noble silat warrior) - Ages 12 - 17

This curriculum focuses on the sport, and artistic aspects of pencak silat

1. Basic Foundation:

  • Kuda-Kuda's (stances)
  • Langkahs (footworks)
  • Techniques (full range of strikes including kicks,sweeps,punches,elbows,knees)

2. Jurus - Sequence of techniques

3. Bela Diri (Self Defense):

  • Defense against armed/unarmed opponents
  • Application locks/breaks
  • Application counterlocks
  • Against multiple attackers

4. Senjata (Weapons):

  • Golok (machete)
  • Toya (bow staff)
  • Counter applications with weapons

5. Sparring:

  • Offense/Defense
  • Hands Only
  • Legs Only
  • Full contact (optional)

Abah Jawara (Elder silat warrior) - Ages 18 and up

This curriculum focuses on the self-defense, internal power, and artistic aspects of pencak silat

2. Jurus - Sequence of techniques

  • Against multiple attackers

4. Senjata (Weapons):

  • Various blades (use dull for training)
  • Toya (bow staff)
  • Counter applications with weapons

5. Sparring:

  • Offense/Defense
  • Hands Only
  • Legs Only
  • Ground fighting (optional)
  • Full contact (optional)

6. Tenaga Dalam (Internal Power)
